The Oyster 70 originates from the successful Oyster 68 with many new features added to the well proven sea keeping, performance and layout possibilities. Four of the Oyster 70s have been built between 1996 and 1999.
The lengthened hull and completely re-styled deck moulding provides a larger sunbathing area on the aft deck and allows larger lazerette locker which can include a hydraulically extendible passerelle. The cockpit has been lowered in the hull which gives the possibility for lower coamings while keeping the protected environment and giving a sleeker appearance.
There are two rigs. One is the sporty version of a fully battened mainsail giving 14% more sail area, or for easy handling hydraulically operated in-mast furling.
