Oyster Yachts To Reunite Nelson’s Flag & The Famous Nelson Watch Aboard HMS Victory

Oyster Yachts is very excited to be hosting the reunion of two significant Nelson artefacts at a very special dinner on Saturday 27th October 2018.

The pocket watch Nelson used to time the start of the Battle of Trafalgar will be brought together with the last remaining piece of the Union Jack flag that was flown atop HMS Victory during the engagement. This will be the first reunion of Nelson’s flag and the famous Nelson watch since the Vice Admiral’s death in 1805. The event will take place upon the HMS Victory, the very vessel which lead the fleet in his greatest victory.

Our CEO Richard Hadida will host the event, having acquired the Nelson watch and flag earlier this year. The exclusive guest list will include Oyster’s luxury sailing yacht owners and members of the armed forces. Attendees will witness the unveiling of Nelson’s flag and timepiece and receive guided tours of HMS Victory, as well as enjoying a dinner that will raise money for the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

Talking about his great appreciation of the Vice Admiral and anticipation for the dinner, Richard said: “This event is hugely exciting. Having been a keen admirer of Nelson for many years, I am personally delighted to help host an event of such historic poignance and significance. As a business, Oyster Yachts is proud to represent Great Britain on the world stage and so to pay tribute to the nation’s greatest sailor is a genuine honour.”
