Paul here from Oyster Yachts.

Now I thought I'd make you this quick little video just to update you as to where we are with Oyster as of today.

Well the first thing I wanted to say to you is, is that it is a very special day here in Southampton because we're launching the first yacht completed under new ownership. She's going in the water today, but I also wanted to update you on a few things that have been going on that you might well have read about.

We've formed a strategic partnership with Lloyd's Register. What does that mean? It means that Lloyds Register have approved all of our designs and that as that yacht is built they will survey that yacht all the way through build and the yacht will leave here with a Lloyd's Register moulding certificate. It just adds that extra layer of quality and assurance and safety to the yachts that we build.

So that's the first thing. The second thing is that we've been looking very hard at our owner events, our family events, in terms of how we can make these even better. So, we're very excited about the Palma regatta that's coming up in just a few months’ time. There's a completely new format, it's completely fresh, and it's going back to the spirit of Oyster. It’s much more of a family event, with incredible venues, incredible events, incredible entertainment, but also great racing on the water as well.

So we have all that going on, and the other thing we've got going on is between the design team, between the sales team, between the management team, we're working very closely with Humphreys Yacht Design to actually develop a brand new Oyster. A smaller Oyster that's actually going to get that dream a bit closer to people. And that yacht will be sailing in 12 months’ time. I can't tell you a lot about it apart from I'm very excited about her!

So the message is really simple: we're here to stay; we're here for the long term; and Oyster is firmly back in business. Many of the people that you've met over the years, built friendships with, and people that are just part of Oyster, are back, on the team, and we're all working together to create an Oyster that is going to last for hundreds and hundreds of years.
