Sailing Today magazine has announced their shortlist of the best boats and cruises of the year and Oyster Yachts could be in with the chance of clinching double victory with your vote.
Reinventing the wheel for luxury yachts below 60ft, The Oyster 565 is versatile, stylish and the perfect family yacht for ocean adventures and takes on the Solaris 55, Euphoria 68, Bavaria 68, Hanse 588 in the Luxury Cruiser category.
With a length overall of 18.09m, this new entry level yacht for the ‘G6’ range takes Oyster to the next generation of cruising. Developed with Humphreys Yacht Design, the Oyster 565 is designed for sailing without professional crew and provides the essential ‘4th cabin’, which can be used as a utility space or for an extra bunk. A generous sail locker and lazarette, headroom and bunk lengths to match the larger Oyster Superyachts, the Oyster 565 can be configured with many different cabin layouts – and for the first time in Oyster Yachts – can have the master cabin forward and a dinghy garage in the transom.
In the Cruise of the Year category, The Oyster World Rally 2017-19 has been nominated alongside the ARC 2016 – 30th Anniversary, Oceans of Hope, Guirec Soudee & Monique, Round Britain 2017.
Organised exclusively for Oyster owners, 29 Oyster yachts from 12 different countries set sail from Antigua in January to participate in the 2017-19 fully supported circumnavigation. The Oyster World Rally comprises four connecting stages, visiting spectacular destinations during the 27-month adventure which covers over 30,000 miles. No other yacht manufacturer has staged a world rally and this is Oyster’s second event! By the end of this rally more than 100 Oyster yachts will have circumnavigated – out of a fleet of c500, this is 1 in 5. This is a spectacular endorsement for Oyster’s global reach.
