The second exclusive ‘Oyster World Rally’ is only just 18-months away and has been re-shaped from the first successful rally into a ‘cruise around the globe in company’, extended from 15 to 27 months to a lengthier, more relaxed world exploration, while also discovering more of New Zealand and Australia.
The event, which starts in January 2017 from Antigua, will comprise of four connecting stages and the whole time supported by a professional experienced team to ensure that the circumnavigation forms the essence of what dreams really are made of.
The route takes in some of the most beautiful regions of the world, with generous cruising time at the end of each passage and making the best of seasonal weather patterns.
As part of the preparation for owners to have a broader insight and knowledge for the World Rally, Oyster will be hosting several key seminars with the first recently held in London in May and conveniently timed when many Oyster owners were in the City to visit the annual Oyster Private View and Owners’ dinner.
Speaking following the seminar Oyster World Rally Coordinator, Alan Canavan said: “This first official seminar to collectively introduce the detailed preparation and plan for the 2017-19 rally was a privilege to be part of. The passion and camaraderie was evident and there is a superb blend of owners taking part – some of which are seasoned sailors and others new to the Oyster family."
“The attendance of the number of Oyster owners spoke volumes about the interest and nature of participation and it was great to see the involvement and contribution of those enthusing owners due to embark on their journey of a lifetime."
“With only 9 spaces left and many others interested, we look forward to more people signing up soon.”
Alan went on to say: “With over 500 days until the blast of gunfire from Fort Charlotte, Antigua marks the sound of the start of the first passage of Oyster’s second World Rally and already there is impetus on the excitement of the journey that lies ahead for the 30 or so yachts that we anticipate to be involved from the onset."
“As we look ahead to September, we are pleased to announce a further seminar held at Vortec Marine, Port Solent, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 4TR on Saturday 12 September.
