Another important milestone has been reached in the Oyster 118 build. With the topsides of the mould now fitted to the canoe body, which arrived by barge in early October, moulding is due to start. David Tydeman, CEO and Rob Humphreys from Humphreys Yacht Design visited the site yesterday to see how the build is progressing.
With the moulds in place it is easy to see that this superyacht will provide an astonishing 700m3 interior space for her 12 guests supported by six crew. That’s ten times the volume of the Oyster 475. The entertaining space alone is almost 11x7 metres including the guest cockpit 4.5 metres square. The moulding is due to be completed in spring 2016 with hull number one on track for launch in early 2018.
