In classic holiday romance style, Linn met Rory in Croatia when he was skipper of a yacht full of her friends. Their two boats - and the new couple tailed each other round the islands and sailed into several sunsets together. Fast forward a couple of years and he’s not just convinced her to work at sea full time but to wear his ring too. Since their abilities and interests lie in different aspects of life on board, the energy they each put into a working day compliment one another and create a warm and jolly atmosphere. They are an active, happy couple with keen eyes for adventure and love nothing more than exploring the sea with their guests.
Rory has spent the last couple of years poking around the most exotic anchorages his homeland has to offer, and is now pumped to see what ‘New’ England has in comparison. Rory studied Spanish as an excuse to chase warm waves, and German to get him access to the Swiss snow, where he misspent most of his twenties. Rory has spent much of his sailing career instructing and exploring the quieter corners of the sea from Alaska to Shetland, from running teenagers’ dive trips in the Windward Islands to leading sail accessed snowboard touring trips for ‘big kids’ in Norway’s Lofoten islands. Cooling off in the water each day is a priority for Rory and he’ll be only too happy to get you acquainted with the wakeboard and other water toys aboard Hurrah.
Linn is from Norway, so has spent many summer weekends splashing around in boats between the fjords, fishing with her family. She has always been a bit of a party-throwing whizz, with one eye on the details of serving lush dinners and the other on ensuring all her guests are having a laugh. She prefers to use fresh, seasonal produce and enjoys cooking healthy meals, as well as treating guests to delicious cakes and pastries. Away from the galley, Linn is happiest when on or in the water - swimming, diving, learning to surf and wakeboard. During the winter time, she as a typical viking girl who loves to snowboard, ski, or just be out and about with her camera. Linn has a pocketful of sailing certificates, and has recently attended Ashburton cookery school for some extra inspiration.
